Rainy day kitsuke

well yesterday was yucky and gray... but i just had to get in kimono and feel pretty. This was my second kitsuke in  two days which is more kitsuke then usual for me. So i broke out my IG Prize and put on the main peices... as in the kimono, the obi, the obijime, and the obiage. being still quite warm here in Texas i wore my hitoe juban (if i had a Ro juban i'm sure it would get much love). Texas has a longer and hotter summer then japan (i think any way by their awase- hitoe- ro/sha calendar) so i may not be able to wear awase much untill  mid october...

oh well thats enough gripeing! so here are some lovely kimono pics!

I must say, thease are some of my favorite kimono pics so far. I look cute, the kimono looks neat... my 1+ years of self teaching have paid off! thank you for the support every one! (though i mostly get support from the stats... i wish more people commented...)

Update July 13

Ok this is mainly one of my Rants i guess but i felt the need to post some news.

First off my newest Zori Arive probably Tomorrow (maybe today) i am very excited, overall my Rakuten expirience was not bad. I just probably won't use them offten... mainly because even though the shoes were just under 9 USD with the shipping it ended up at 30+ USD anyway... but i do think it may be my go to for shoes still because of the veriety...

Second, i just wanted to inform every one i have desided on the color i want for my Prom kimono... Purple, a deep plum color would be prefrerable. Overall i think my Prom Houmongi will be the most expencive kimono i will get untill i have a solid carreer. I'm really glad i am strating my hunt early because i'm finding the color i want is a bit... well... hard to find... but it does exsist, the trick is to find something in my price range... right now my range is around 100 USD but untill my mom gives me an officall budget and i crunch some numbers it will still be my range... because i have lots more accesories then the average prom dress buyer... lols.

in other news. i still havnt received any hint from Naomi/The Immortal Geisha about shipping, not even a confirmation that she got my address... its making me a bit fidgety because i really want this prize i won... i have already desided not to enter any more raffles so i don't want this huge fish to be reraffled.... meh, Naomi if you can hear this please send me a sign that you got my adress!!! lols just kidding but i will send her a question on say saterday if i havn't heard from her by then.

Also my newest Plush toy came in the other day, Its a Nemuneko or sleepy cat. i desided to name mine Suzu. i'll post some pics of her As soon as i get some pics....

Finaly i just wanted to post a warning. I have a Proceeder/ surgery on monday... it may be some time before i post any more kitsuke pics... It all depends on how my smile looks really. Its an oral surgery because i have a missing tooth so i should finaly be getting my fake tooth... it may be a few weeks before i am comfortable with smiling and thus posting pics of kitsuke... because lets face it i'm a smiler in frount of cameras... i don't show to may other expressions when some one else is takeing my pics. oh well thats all for now.

Well my Bunny Yukata came in the otherday, ok two days ago.. my computer wouldn't let me get to where the pics were... but i got em now so here we go! Picture time!!

Cosplay

Ok so i've been wanting to do some sort of cosplay, or more acurately have some one to cosplay as, for a while now. I like many a cosplayer have a school girl uniform and a few other choice items... But since i have rediscovered kimono in full i really realised how much of my cosplay was Wa-loli in my colection any who. 

So this cosplay i will come up with will also be kimono oriented. I wracked my brains for a suitable charecter that i could play as and for the longest time i could thing of none... see when i cosplay i like a) generic (like the school girl uniform) or b) some one i can do without too much work on me or my hair... So in other words anything that needs a wig is out... I was shopping with my mom the other day when i came up with the perfect cosplay for me.

The charecter i am cosplaying as is called Zakuro. the manga/anime is called Otome Youkai Zakuro.
Zakuro is a good match for me because she has dark hair, wears kimono, and has bangs...

SO aside from the Furisode length sleeves ( i am not getting a pink furisode) i will do my best to follow the cosplay.

So i will need:
1: a set of black or dark brown fox/cat ears, clip on preferable.
2. a pink (preferably vintage) kimono
3. a white ruffled wrap around apron
4. purple obi
5. red date eri
6. some large pink hair bows
7. lace and ribbon to atach to my juban
8. a belt with a white/silver buckle thing with black belt
9. darker pink obiage

and in the undesided range:
10. a branch with pink blossoms all over.


i will need  to buy the kimono, obi, and a few other choice bits like the lace... but otherwise i can make a good deal... such as the apron, date eri, the hair bows, and i am trying to make the ears...

now where will i wear this you all are probably asking... well I plan on wearing it to Ikki-con which is from december 28-30th. so thats almost six months to make this baby work and to get the perfect stuff. this should be a fun cosplay!

My early easter kitsuke.

SO as i said last time i got me some hakama! So i broak out my synthetic Kimono that has some lovley styalised sakura on branches all over it. this was actuly my first kimono and is a bit of a pain to put on because it is just so dang slipery! The hanhaba i wore with it actuly came in a set i got from Yukata Kimono market sakura. so all in all its all synthetic. My boots which seem to be a hit on Immortal Geisha already are a great find i had on Overstock.com. They were origanly $200 but at 90% off were right at $20... wich is why i got them. They have a nice big chunky heel.

Ah it was lots of fun... but alas i probibly have only one more Awase kitsuke in me anyway... the season is almost over to begin with but its already getting to the 80 F range or around 27 C.

alas i also have no Ro or Hitoe kimono because i started my collection is August last year... all i have is 1 yukata... and so, being a kimono loveing texan... after i get my Ko-furisode i will begin to work up my collection of summer garments... its neccisary because by july there will be 100F+ (38C+) weather and if i even tried to wear Awase outside the house i would probibly overheat quickly and pass out...( not kidding)

So far this is the one thing i hate about texas... though i will probibly stay here if given the choice... maybe one day i will move a tad more north.... like to dallas or forthworth... i hear they have a gorgeouse japanese garden.... oh well. this is enough ranting for now. wish me luck on my kimono goals!
